Attenborough ‘OUR PLANET’ series FREE screening

06 Jun 2019

Turn Lyme Green and Plastic Free Lyme Regis are hosting a series of free film nights to screen the latest natural history series, ‘Our Planet’.

We're now halfway through the season and have seen dancing birds, animals surviving in harsh climates and some of the effects that global warming has on our planet.

Each new ‘Our Planet’ episode will be screened on Friday night, 6.45pm for 7pm, in The Driftwood Café at Lyme Regis Baptist Church, beginning 10th May and running to 28th June.

‘Our Planet’ is special because it features Sir David Attenborough as the narrator. In the series premier, Attenborough states: “What makes ‘Our Planet’ special is that there is a clear, driving story that runs through the entire series – the natural world fundamentally matters to each and every one of us”.

Jake Causley, a graduate zoologist and member of the Plastic Free Lyme Regis Strategic Group. thought of the idea of screening the new series. Jake said “I wanted to screen ‘Our Planet’ so that people who don’t have access to Netflix could still watch, learn from, and enjoy the series. I feel it has become available at a crucial time where climate change and conservation is very much at the forefront of people’s minds, and I know that it will be an amazing set of films to watch!”
